A grisly tale of crime from Uttar Pradesh's Mirzapur has once again put the spotlight on UP police and the insecure environment for women in the country.
A class 11 student was first gangraped by two brothers of her mother's electoral rival.
When police failed to act on her complaint, the girl committed suicide. The police have now arrested the rapist brothers but the question is - why didn't the cops act in a timely manner and what was done to prevent the rape victim from taking such extreme step.
