Uttar Pradesh: Student gangraped, police refuses to file case

Uttar Pradesh is again in news for rising crime and police apathy. Even as the memories of police brutality in Aligarh after the rape and murder of 6-year-old are yet to fade, another rape horror has come to fore. A college student was reportedly abducted by four men and brutally raped in Allahabad. The girl is now battling for life. But yet again, police apathy was galore, with the UP police refusing to initially file the case and instead launching a cover-up to save the accused.
