Policeman stabbed by thieves near Bengaluru

A sub-inspector was stabbed to death on Friday allegedly by two motorcycle-borne thieves he was chasing them in Bengaluru Rural district, police said. "Police sub-inspector S. Jagdish of Doddaballapur police station, who stopped the duo after a hot pursuit in the town, slipped and fell in a ditch on a road side while fighting with them and they stabbed him with a dagger and fled," state Director General of Police (DGP) Om Prakash told reporters here. As the two accompanying constables went after the culprits, Jagdish bled to death while he was being taken to a hospital at Nelamangala, about 30 km north of this city.
