MEA chief of Protocol called Saudi Ambassador to seek cooperation in ongoing probe

India has today stepped up the pressure on Saudi Arabia to get its diplomat accused of locking up his maids and allegedly enslaving them to submit to Indian law. This morning the MEA has reached out to the Saudi government seeking its co-operation on the issue. The Gurgaon police have also sought access to the diplomat who is thought to be the first secretary of the embassy. Till now the Saudi govt has shielded its rapist diplomat. Saudi Arabia must clarify whether it is going to condone this alleged perversion by standing up for justice or continue to shield its diplomat thereby perpetuating its image of being a society that has failed to stand up for women's rights.
