Mumbai police commissioner Rakesh Maria has successfully defended his meeting with Lalit Modi in London, media reports said on Tuesday. His explanations have reportedly satisfied Maharashtra government Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis during a meetingon Mondaynight. Modi is wanted in India to answer charges of corruption, tax evasion and money-laundering during his term as chief of the Indian Premier League. Chief Minister Fadnavis was reportedly considering transferring Maria before he received the in-person explanation and a detailed report in writing.
