A trainee athlete at Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education, under Sports Authority of India, attempted to commit suicide.

Police said the trainee athlete tried to end life by slitting a wrist vein on Wednesday morning. Admitted to medical college hospital in Thiruvananthapuram, she is out of danger.
