Former CBDT chairman KV Chowdhary appointed CVC, Vijai Sharma is new CIC

The government has appointed senior most Information Commissioner Vijai Sharma as the the new Chief Information Commissioner. KV Chowdary, former chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), has been appointed the new central vigilance commissioner.
Over 40,000 complaints and appeals are pending in the Central Information Commission (CIC) which had been working without its Chief for more than nine months.
