In Maharashtra BJP is leading ahead in at least six constituencies including Ghatkopar West represented by Ram Kadam , Ghatkopar East by Prakash Mehta, Parli by Pankaja Munde, Amrawati by Sunil Deshmukh, Nagpur South West by Devendra Fadnavis and Borivali by Vindo Tawde, according to Zee News report.

8am Counting begins in Maharashtra and Haryana assembly at 8am amid tight security and by evening it will be clear if the pre-poll predictions and exit polls were right in predicting victory for BJP in both the states.

The five major parties of Maharashtra, BJP, Congress, NCP, MNS and Shiv Sena along with other regional parties are contesting for 288 assembly seats, while in Haryana BJP, Congress, INLD, HJCBL and other regional parties are contesting for 90 seats.

After three days of agonising wait, the stage seems to be set for the verdict in the assembly polls in Maharashtra and Haryana on Sunday. This day will seal the fate of the two states following the polls on 15 October. Additionally, it will also be an electoral acid test for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who spearheaded a high-decibel BJP campaign in both Maharashtra and Haryana to wring power from the Congress, in what promised to be a very close contest
