Congress candidate takes ‘selfie’ with party symbol

Congress candidate from Vadodara, Narendra Rawat was caught in a selfie row on Saturday when after casting his vote here he clicked a picture showing the party symbol of Congress, within 100 metres of the polling booth.

BJP has alleged that it is a violation of Election Commission’s model code of conduct which prohibits display of any party symbols near the polling booths.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also caught in a similar dispute when he clicked a selfie with the lotus symbol after casting his vote in the Lok Sabha elections.

Rawat is the Congress candidate from Vadodara constituency, which was vacated by Modi after he chose to keep the Varanasi constituency after the Lok Sabha elections.

Bypolls are currently underway in 10 states for 3 Lok Sabha seats and 33 Assembly seats.
