Friend-turned-foes-turned-friends to address joint rallies

Warring factions uniting against a 'common enemy' is an all too familiar trope in politics. And this is exactly what has happened in Bihar, when RJD chief Lalu Prasad and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar began campaigning for Assembly by-polls in the state today, in the hopes of fighting off the BJP, which won 22 of the state's 40 Lok Sabha seats in the recently concluded general election.
It would seem that for Lalu, even a jail term for his involvement in the fodder scam pales in comparison to the horrors of being reduced to political irrelevance in the state.
