Protests in Srinagar over move to start Kousar Nag Yatra
  • 5 years ago
Chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani has strongly opposed government’s move to make Kousar Naag an another “pilgrimage destination” and called for peaceful protest after Friday prayers. Geelani asked people to observe a complete shutdown on Saturday against government’s move.

In a statement, Geelani accused government of reviving old Hindu civilization in Kashmir by creating new destinations for holy pilgrimage. “The authorities are now planning to occupy our land by creating such destinations and thereby constituting new Shrine Boards at different places,” said Geelani.
