In another embarrassment to the Samajwadi Party government in Uttar Pradesh, one of his ministers has been caught on camera slapping a person in Varanasi.Minister of State for Public Works Department as well as Irrigation, Surender Singh Patel, was in Rohania village of the district to promote a government-sponsored blanket distribution drive when the incident occurred. Patel, who is an MLA from the Gangapur constituency seat in Varanasi, later tried to justify his irresponsible act by claiming to mediapersons that the boy was his relative so he had right to slap him publicly.
