Maharashtra: Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana workers throw onions, toor dal outside state assembly

With an aim to draw government's attention towards farmers' grueling conditions in state, farmers' Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana staged a protest outside Vidhan Sabha on Tuesday. Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana, which is one of the most organised and vocal outfits, demonstrated against the government's indifference and declining prices of onion throughout Maharashtra. The protesters threw onions, toor dal on the road outside the Assembly alleging government apathy. The protesters said that till the Devendra Fadnavis government does not take major steps they will continue with their protests. The protesters also said that the Maharashtra government had promised many things but the reality is that farmers in the state are having a tough time. The government has failed to give a better life to our farmers.
