Indian Coast Guard steps in to give US ship a clean chit - NewsX

Indian Coast Guard detained a US ship off the coast of Tuticorin after it failed to produce documentation for the arms on board. But this reply by the US ship company clearly contradicting the Coast Guard's version, with AdvanFort claiming that it was in fact given permission to enter Indian waters to avoid cyclone 'Phailin'. The US ship company has said that MV Seaman Ohio was in fact docked at an Indian port not because it committed any offence but because the Indian authorities are auditing the vessel's records during the port stay while supplies, provisions and fuel are being transferred to Ohio.
