Gujarat bandh: Hundreds of Congress supporters detained

Raising the pitch for the resignation of the Narendra Modi led BJP Government in the wake of the explosive letter written by suspended IPS officer D G Vanzara, the Congress has called for a statewide bandh today.
Meanwhile, in the backdrop of the impending statewide bandh called by the main opposition party, the State Government has beefed up security. Around 80 thousand police personnel will be pressed in service to maintain law and order.
In order to maintain normalcy police will take action if anyone tries to close shops and establishments.
