IC-814 was hijacked while on its way from Kathmandu to Delhi. The plane that was finally forced to land in Kandahar was carrying 11 crew members and 179 passengers. After 7 days of negotiations the passengers were set free only when Indian Govt of India agreed to the demands of the hijackers of releasing 3 terrorists lodged in Jammu jail.
But not before one passenger Rupin Katyal returning from his honeymoon was brutally stabbed to death.
