At the end it came down to one number - 178. But that one number represents several verdicts. A verdict on the NDA's appeal. A verdict on the Grand Alliance experiment. A verdict on brand Modi. A verdict on Rahul Gandhi's suit boot slogan. It is also a verdict on communal and caste based mobilisation. The verdict's implications are varied.
