Disproportionate Assets Case: Jayalalithaa acquitted, back as Cheif Minister on May 17

Jayalalithaa is likely to take the oath of office as chief minister of Tamil Nadu on May 17, according to information reaching here. The Karnataka high court judge has acquitted former chief minister of Tamil Naidu J Jayalalithaa in a corruption case quashing her conviction by a trial court. Justice Kumar Swamy dismissed the allegations framed against Jaya. Three others along with her were also acquitted. The stop gap chief minister Panneer Selvam has visited the residence of Jayalalithaa this morning. Selvam and other Anna DMK leaders greeted her and started celebrations. There is a festival look in Chennai.
