NewsX @ 9: Has Modi finally defanged Gujarat's Lokayukta?

NewsX@9 is a NewsX special show which debates the main news event of the day. Modi has passed new rules that make the Lokayukta LESS autonomous. Modi's new rules ensure Modi's own govt appoints the Lok Ayukta, creating a huge conflict of interest. This despite a nation-wide movement to give Lokayuktas greater autonomy and independence. Ironically, all this on the same day that the CAG accuses Modi of giving massive financial favours to top corporations, especially the Adani Group. So today we debate- Has Modi finally defanged Gujarat's Lokayukta? Is Modi to authoritarian to tolerate an autonomous Lokayukta? Are the CAG's charges making Modi nervous?
