CM Modi's personal visit to congratulate the scientists in 2008 drew a massive turnout from the scientific community. As a packed audience listened, Modi emphasized how remote-sensing satellites can help fishermen and how modern space science consistently improves human welfare. As far back as 15 years ago, he saw science's potential in education, telemedicine, and in probing life's mysteries.
