Blamegame rages on over Kumbh Mela stampede

After Sunday's stampede at the Mahakumbh fair, a blame game is on in fixing the responsibility. The accident on platform 6 the Allahabad Railway station claimed 36 lives, besides leaving many people injured. Unconfirmed reports however said the death toll could go up to 40. Eyewitnesses initially said the stampede started after the railing of an over bridge at the railway station collapsed. The UP government announced a committee to investigate the tragedy.
