Social networking sites were flooded with pro-AAP posts as soon as it became clear that fresh polls were inevitable in Delhi. Party's supporters, already in poll mode for a while, pitted Arvind Kejriwal against BJP veteran and Jangpura MLA Jagdish Mukhi, making it appear as if the next contest was between the two.

But the road ahead for the party isn't smooth. AAP's tumultuous stint in government saw its support base dwindle: a fact that pinched it hard in the General Elections this year where it performed disastrously. In comparison, its main rival BJP has steadily performed well, sweeping not just the Lok Sabha elections but also the assembly polls in Haryana and Maharashtra.
