The protestors' anger is mainly directed against the lack of accountability on the part of the Government. Primarily the police commissioner Neeraj Kumar under whose watch the police force failed to protect the life of 23-year-old Damini. Demanding his resignation, they list the various sins of omission and commission including even the gross mismanagement of the aftermath. But there are also voices that say that it's not the police commissioner alone and that heads should roll right at the top as well.
