SC to Modi govt: Your plan to clean up Ganga will take over 200 years

The Supreme Court on Tuesday criticised the Narendra Modi government's affidavit filed over its effort to clean river Ganga, saying even 200 years would not be enough to clean up the river. The court has now asked the government to come up with a stage-wise and realistically achievable plan.The apex court said the government affidavit was too comprehensive and bureaucratic. "After seeing your action plan, it seems Ganga will not be cleaned even after 200 years.
