Sports Ministry orders AFI to hold fresh polls - NewsX

The Sports Ministry has once again cracked the whip and ordered the Athletics Federation of India to hold fresh elections.As NewsX exclusively revealed over the weekend, the AFI are the latest sports body to be under the scanner for violation of the sports code. The elections to the post of President, Secretary and Treasurer of the AFI have been ordered to be conducted again. The AFI have until Febraury 28th to hold the fresh elections or face suspension. This latest move by the government comes soon after the Sports Ministry suspended both the Indian Boxing Association and the Archery Federation for violations of the sports code.
