France's Laffarge faces protest over unkept promises - NewsX

Trouble is brewing for the 7-year-old Lafarge cement plant at Bilaspur in Chattisgarh. Over 6.000 locals resorted to a large-scale protest against the plant for causing severe damage to the environment. Villagers claim that the plant in spite of making huge profits had failed to contribute for Bilaspur's development. They lament that the plant management has not contributed anything till date in either protecting the villages around it from the environment hazard caused by the it or providing people with employment that was promised.
