West Bengal: Clash in Birbhum on mining, over 30 injured - NewsX

There's fresh trouble for the Mamata Banerjee, a long-standing land row is in focus again. Violence erupted once again against confiscation of village land for mining, this time in Birbhum district of West Bengal, leaving more than 30 injured. Images of Singur and Nandigram had bounced back as clashes broke out between policemen and farmers of Loba village. The police tried to recover mining equipment from the village. The equipment had been confiscated by the villagers in 2011 during the land acquisition drive, villagers alleged that the police fired at them.
