This seems a controversy completely not of the BJP's doing. The party has been red-faced for the past two days, ever since an article in the Shiv Sena Mouthpiece Saamana kicked up a storm. Shiv Sena chief's suggestion that Sushma Swaraj is ideal Prime Ministerial material has embarrassed BJP. It now seeks to dismiss individual claimants. In a guarded response, BJP leader Balbir Punj says the BJP has a "number of capable leaders" who can fill the slot as Prime Minister. Taking a jibe at the Congress, Punj said the BJP is not dependent on any single family for its existence.
