Giriraj Singh faces arrest, EC bans him from campaigning

The Jharkhand police on Tuesday prayed before the Bokaro and Deoghar district courts for non-bailable warrants against BJP leader Giriraj Singh for his provocative statements last week that those opposing Modi will have to go to Pakistan after election. Election Commission (EC) also banned him from campaigning in Bihar and Jharkhand for his 'Pakistan' remarks.

Jharkhand DGP Rajiv Kumar told over phone that after procuring the warrant, he would request the Bihar government to either arrest and hand over Giriraj or a Jharkhand police team would be sent to pick him up. Additional chief electoral officer, Bihar, R Lakshmanan confirmed that the state home department was coordinating with Jharkhand police for Giriraj's arrest.
