Army to prosecute officials involved in Pathribal fake encounter case - NewsX

In a significant development, after 12 long years the Army has finally decided to try its officers and men involved in the infamous Pathribal fake encounter case of 2000. The case has now obtained a definite direction after the army moved an application in the Chief Judical Magistrate's court in Srinagar to allow it to try the accused soldiers in the military court. The army's move comes after the Supreme court's judgment on May 1 giving army eight weeks to decide whether to try the accused in military court or civil court.
