Pathribal encounter case: Army to decide on prosecution - NewsX

The Supreme Court today ruled that the Centre's sanction is needed to prosecute the Army officials accused in the Pathribal Encounter case. The Supreme Court asked the Army authorities to decide whether they wanted court martial or criminal court proceedings. It said that in case the Army decides on criminal proceedings. The CBI will have to seek the sanction from the Centre to prosecute the Army officials within 8 weeks... And for its part the Centre has 3 months to decide.
