Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission of India Montek Singh Ahluwalia, welcomed RBI's interest rate cut. The Reserve Bank of India has reduced the interest rates by 50 basis points. This cut was expected. It brings big relief for those who have home loans. It is going to have a major impact on inflation. The cash reserve ratio though remains unchanged at 4.75%.
