In a huge blow to the Congress and the Sheila Dikshit government in the capital, the BJP has surged ahead in all the three municipal corporations of Delhi. It's a key test for both the national parties keeping in mind the assembly elections in the state which are just 18 months away. Based on the trends coming in from all 272 seats at this time, the BJP seems on course on retaining the MCD for the third consecutive time although with a reduced majority. The Congress in the meantime, is set to bag over 70 wards. The BSP is ahead in 15 seats.
