Leaders misusing govt's faulty land policy-NewsX

The malaise of land scams in Maharashtra now seems rooted in a faulty government policy of over 30 years. The policy of transfer of government land to charitable trusts for public good has been grossly misused by the ones in power and leaders from all political parties seem equally guilty. Several ministers have abused the system to get land transferred to trusts owned by themselves or their kin, and are subsequently reaping huge benefits. Many trusts awarded lands have used it for commercial purposes, violating the basic tenet of allocation under the policy.
