India News : Congress president Sonia Gandhi leaves for medical check-up in US

India News : New Delhi: Congress president Sonia Gandhi left for the United States today for a medical check-up and will be back in about a week, party sources said.
Mrs Gandhi's daughter Priyanka Vadra is accompanying her, said sources. The visit is part of a scheduled annual check-up.
The check-up was due since her last visit abroad in September 2012 but it was delayed due to pressing engagements, Congress general secretary Janardan Dwivedi said.
