Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will host a dinner tonight to build unity and perhaps more importantly, morale of the UPA allies. UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi is likely to attend. Rahul Gandhi after the poll debacle in UP elections has travelled abroad though. One of the big challenges for the Congress in the new budget session, that began on Monday, will be keeping its flock together. More and more of its allies seem to be headed in different political directions. Trinamool party chief Mamata Banerjee, in particular, has been reported to be showing signs of dissent far too often also accusing the Congress of not consulting allies before announcing big-ticket policy changes.
