2G Case: Cabinet to make Presidential reference on SC verdict-NewsX

The Union Cabinet is set to discuss making a Presidential reference on the Supreme Court's order on 2G licenses. This follows a go-ahead given by a high-powered group, headed by Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, to the Department of Telecommunications' proposal. The government is to seek clarity on the Supreme Court's verdict, that all natural resources must be allocated through an auction. A review petition has already been filed against the 2nd February SC order that cancelled 122 telecom licenses.
