S. Korean composer Chin Un-suk wins 2019 Hamburg Bach Prize

South Korean composer Chin Un-suk has won the 2019 Bach Prize of the City of Hamburg.
According to the city administration,… Chin was honored for her unique musical language and contribution to contemporary music.
The prize, worth ten-thousand euros, will be presented on November 28th at the city's Elbphilharmonie concert hall.
Chin, who lives and works in Berlin, said it was a great honor to receive the award given by the city of Hamburg, which helped to mold her musical influences, …and in the name of Bach,… the greatest composer in history.
The Bach Prize is given every four years to (quote) "an exceptional composer of our time."
Past winners include such legends as Paul Hindemith, Gyorgy Ligeti and Pierre Boulez.
