Downward trend in chip prices to continue this year: DRAM eXchange

The price of DRAM products is expected to sharply drop until the mid-point of 2019... and will continue to fall during the second half of the year but at a moderate pace.
This is according to price tracker DRAM eXchange on Thursday... citing oversupply and weak global demand.
It projects that DRAM contract prices will plunge... resulting in an over 20-percent sequential decline during the first quarter,... followed by another on-quarter decrease of 15-percent in Q2.
It also said demand for emerging 5G networks, Internet-of-Things and automotive electronics applications will not have much influence on the overall DRAM market this year.
