US police dog put down after exemplary life of service

A procession of K9 officers salutes officer Juan Rodriguez and his dog, Cesar, whose incredible life of service came to an end on February 14 in Manhattan.

Before joining the police force, Cesar was a military dog, deployed overseas 3 times and once saved a squad of Navy SEALs by detecting two bombs.

He was adopted by Rodriguez and the NYPD 5 years ago.

In a heartbreaking and tear-inducing ceremony, he was saluted one last time by his fellow officers.
