The South Korean government announced on Tuesday that it will increase its investments this year in businesses related to "smart factories."
These factories use information and communications technology... to improve their productivity.
According to the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the government will invest around 304-point-7 million U.S. dollars this year mainly to build new smart factories or improve existing ones.
That's an increase from the previous year's figure of 118-point-2 million.
The government wants to use this technology to boost Korea's manufacturing, a main driver of its economic growth.
