Emergency declared in U.S. northwest after heavy snow

A massive snowstorm prompted the U.S. state of Washington... to declare an emergency this weekend.
The storm, called Maya, brought a year's worth of snow in just one day to many places in the Pacific Northwest.
The Seattle area got around 18 centimeters of snow, causing more than 180 flights to be canceled as of Saturday morning.
Tens of thousands in the state were without power.
In California, more than 120 visitors and staff were rescued from a resort in Sierra Nevada after being snowed in for five days.
And the radar shows there's still more snow to come in the next day or so.
