Chicago's O'Hare Named 2018's Busiest US Airport It topped Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson in "total flights" for the first time in five years. Los Angeles, Dallas/Fort Worth and Denver rounded out the top 5, respectively. According to the Federal Aviation Administration, Atlanta still processes the most airline passengers in the country and for good measure, the world as well. It has held that title for the past 20 years. To its own credit, O'Hare has been called the "best-connected" airport in the U.S. It is currently the only American city where people can fly to six different continents nonstop.
