Trump nominates David Malpass to head World Bank

After Jim Yong Kim suddenly resigned from the president of the World Bank last month.... U.S. President Donald Trump is going to nominate U.S. Treasury Undersecretary for International Affairs David Malpass as the next World Bank Group President.
Generally, the U.S. has a large say in the appointment of the head of the world's biggest development bank.
President Trump said his top priority when making his choice was to ensure that U.S. taxpayers' money is spent well, serves American interests and defends its values.
But President Trump's pick has generated a backlash from an array of experts... who cited past statements Malpass had made that were critical of the World Bank and multilateral institutions.
