White House Says Secret To Trump's Tan Is 'Good Genes'

President Trump's tan is due to "good genes," says a senior administration official.
The White House maintains that President Trump's perpetual tan is the result of "good genes."
That disclosure was made in the New York Times by an unnamed senior administration official who also admitted the president does use "a little powder — a translucent one, not a bronzer — which [he] applies himself before television appearances."
There has been widespread speculation about Trump's skin color.
A Business Insider piece from 2016 asserts: "Though no one knows for sure what the source is, many makeup artists and tanning experts have a pretty good guess: a bad artificial tanner."
However, the Times report cites multiple inside sources who claim there is no tanning bed at the White House residence nor on Air Force One.
While that mystery will likely persist, the administration has been clear about the president's so-called "good genes."
When Dr. Ronny Jackson held a press briefing about the results of Trump's physical in January 2018, a reporter asked him how the president could be so healthy given his fast food consumption and lack of exercise.
Jackson answered, in part: "It's called genetics...Some people have just great genes. I told the President that if he had a healthier diet over the last 20 years, he might live to be 200 years old."
