Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez fired back at former Starbucks CEO and potential 2020 presidential candidate Howard Schultz. She said in a Wednesday tweet: "Why don't people ever tell billionaires who want to run for President that they need to 'work their way up' or that 'maybe they should start with city council first'?"  Ocasio-Cortez also included a link to a Daily Beast article that states Schultz as saying she is the reason he is considering running for president as an independent instead of a Democrat. The news outlet reports that "in an interview with CNBC Monday night, he shed some light on why he feels he would not run as a Democrat: Because he could end up having to argue for massive taxes on the super-rich like himself."  Ocasio-Cortez has proposed on a 70% marginal tax rate for earnings in excess of $10 million, an idea that, based on a recent poll from Hill-HarrisX, has the support of 59% of Americans.  According to the Washington Post, Schultz has also slammed Senator Elizabeth Warren's proposal for an annual 2% tax on those who earn more than $50 million and Senator Kamala Harris' support for a "Medicare-for-all" plan, even if that means the end of private insurers.
