South Korea's Army is putting its high-tech 'Warrior Platform' gear to the test at a frontline unit to see whether it helps to boost a soldier's shooting ability.
According to the Army,... the number of shooters classified as "exceptional" increased by about 12 percent after the troops used the advanced rifle attachments including the dot-sight, 3X magnifier and vertical grip.
To be deemed an exceptional shooter,... the soldier needs to hit at least 11 targets out of 13 that randomly pop up at a distance of 50, 100 and 200 meters.
The Army plans to expand the trial to more units next month.
