Yellow dust and dry air in store _ 012819

Good morning. Central inland regions received a mix of rain and snow overnight, a bit of precipitation didn't help much to ease the dryness in the air, we'll continue to suffer from dry conditions with dry weather advisories in place for most areas. An advisory has been upgraded to a warning in south-eastern areas including Daegu and Busan. Meanwhile, yellow dust will blow in and we'll be seeing moderately poor air quality across the entire nation.

Morning lows this Monday were quite bearable but highs won't rise much and biting winds will blow in this afternoon, making it feel a bit colder than the actual temperatures so dress up warm and have your face mask ready on your way out. Tomorrow morning, we'll have brief cold snap with a low of minus 6 degrees Celsius.

Taking a closer look at today's temperatures. Daily highs in Seoul will be at 3 degrees this afternoon, southern areas will enjoy upper single-digit or low double-digit afternoon highs. We'll see brighter skies as the day goes on.

Nationwide snow is in store for Thursday and we'll have cold mornings on Tuesday and Friday but readings will remain above the seasonal norms for this week.
