S. Korea's terms of trade worsens due to soaring international oil prices

The volume of South Korea's exports rose for the third consecutive month in December of last year,... but import volume dropped sharply.
The country's terms of trade slumped.... 6-point-8-percent on-year.... as prices of imports rose due to fluctuations in global oil prices... while that of exports dropped.
Data by the Bank of Korea on Friday show.... export volume last month edged up zero-point-two-percent compared to the same period the previous year.
The volume of imports dropped 3-point-1-percent on-year... as machinery goods related to semiconductors slumped.
Korea's benchmark, Dubai crude, surged by 7-point-8 percent on-year.... to trade at the 65-U.S.-dollar level last month.
