Shortly after the announcement, the Presidential Office of Cheong Wa Dae said it welcomes the second round of the North Korea-U.S. summit.
Our Blue House correspondent Hwang Hojun has more.
The Blue House says the second summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un... could become another landmark moment for the Moon administration's so-called peace process.

"South Korea welcomes the planned second summit between Washington and Pyeongyang at the end of February. We hope the North Korea-U.S. Summit will serve as a turning point to solidify lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula"

It was just a couple of days ago... when the presidential office said a visit to Seoul by Kim Jong-un can be discussed after the North Korea-U.S. summit takes place.
Blue House spokesperson Kim Eui-kyeom asserted... the South Korean government will cooperate with Pyeongyang, Washington and other related parties... so that the summit in late February would render practical and tangible results... to achieve complete denuclearization and the establishment of permanent peace on the Korean Peninsula.
He also said the Moon administration will work closely with the U.S. while expanding inter-Korean dialogue,... on the back of a successful Kim-Trump summit.
A senior Blue House official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, insisted the summit this time would focus on substance and details.
He praised the decision by North Korea and the U.S. to meet, especially after a 7-month hiatus. The official said, while the first Kim-Trump summit in Singapore can be viewed as "symbolic," the second summit would be much more specific and practical.
The location for the second summit is yet to be disclosed,... but the Blue House official said there are signs that Pyeongyang and Washington had made substantial progress toward agreeing on the final location before North Korean envoy Kim Yong-chol's visit to Washington.
